Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions relevant to the poultry and dairy industries can be submitted in the following forms:
    • Research Articles
    • Product Reviews
    • CSR Story
    • New Appointments
    • Award Functions
    • Events
    • Product placements not allowed in articles
  • Text should be double spaced.
  • For articles a cover letter is to be prepared; briefly introducing yourself and explaining the novelty of the topic.
  • Word-processing Software Guidelines
    • It is important that the file be saved in the native format of the word processor used.
    • The text should be in single-column format, and double-spaced throughout.
    • Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. Most formatting codes will be removed and replaced on during processing the article. In particular, do not use the word processor’s option to justify text.
  • Text Guidelines
    • The title of the submission should not exceed 70 characters without spaces.
    • The main text of the article should be between 600 to 1200 words.
    • Press release should not exceed 1200 words.
    • Product news and announcements should not exceed 300 words.
    • Paragraphs are to be indicated by indents. The function of a paragraph indent is to mark a pause, setting the paragraph apart from what precedes it. If a paragraph is preceded by a title or subhead, the indent is unnecessary and can therefore be omitted.
    • Articles should not contain advertising. They should not contain any product’s brand and model information unless specifically requested.
    • The authors should provide their information in brief (about 4-5 lines).
  • Image Guidelines
    • All images should have minimum resolutions of 300 DPI (300 dots per inch for high-quality prints).
    • A maximum of 2 images can be submitted with an article of 600 words.
    • A maximum of 5 images can be submitted with an article of 1200 words.
    • A maximum of 6 images can be submitted with a press release.
    • A maximum of 3 images can be submitted with product news and announcements.
  • Corresponding Author
    • Clearly indicate one author who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. This responsibility includes answering any future queries.
    • Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.
  • References Guidelines
    • Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).
    • References required information and layout:
      • From journal articles:

Author’s name, Initial(s) year of publication, ‘Title in single quotes’, Journal Title in Italics, vol. ##, (volume number) no. #, (issue number) pp. #-# (page numbers the article covers).

  • From books:

Author’s name, Initial(s) year of publication, Title (in italics), Publisher, Place of Publication.

  • From web: It is best, wherever possible, to reference the specific page or section of a website that you are using, rather than the whole website.

Author’s name, Initial(s) OR Authoring body year, Title of webpage (in italics), Title of website, viewed date.
